Environmental Services Aide-Floor Care - Kenner

Responsibilities

• Perform project cleaning activities in patient, clinical, public, and administrative areas.
• Waste segregation: distinguish regular trash, recyclables, biohazardous waste, sharps, and linen.
• Assist with cleaning projects and collaborate effectively with the team.
• Maintain attendance, punctuality, and professional appearance.
• Operate trash compactors, balers, and floor‑cleaning machinery safely.

• No formal education required.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience operating Environmental Service equipment such as Automatic Scrubber, Battery Burnisher, Electrical Burnisher, All Purpose Matador, and Carpet Extractor.
• Ability to lift 35–100 pounds and push or pull carts weighing up to 500 pounds.
• Stamina to stand, walk, bend, and kneel continuously for an 8‑hour shift.
• Basic knowledge of housekeeping, cleaning equipment, and supplies.
• Proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English for following instructions.
• Flexible schedule when required.
• Follow directions and complete tasks with minimal supervision.

Medium work requiring occasional exertion of 20–50 pounds, frequent exertion of 10–25 pounds, and prolonged use of force. Duties involve walking or standing for a significant portion of the shift, pushing and pulling equipment, and maintaining a production pace. Exposure to hazardous medications or waste is possible in the healthcare setting.
