Job SummaryPerforms car, truck and automotive vehicle maintenance on campus vehicles. Responsible for scheduling and performing general overhaul and minor mechanical and electrical repairs. Performs general, preventative and supportive maintenance tasks including detection and correction of mechanical failures. Follows established shop safety policies and procedures and other regulatory guidelines.

Current, valid and unrestricted Georgia driver's license
Required Experience: Three (3) years related experience

Undergraduate or Advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related field
Operate heavy machinery and electrical equipment
Operate and work in extreme temperatures and heights including aerial lifts and ladders

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Abilities- Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time meeting assigned deadlines
- Able to operate and use hand and power tools, scanners and equipment
- Able to operate equipment used in repairing or servicing motorized equipment
- Able to work independently with little direction and establish effective working relationships with others
- Knowledge of tools, equipment and procedures used in general overhaul, repair and maintenance of automotive equipment and small engines
- Knowledge of principles of internal combustion engines and gasoline and diesel engines
- Knowledge of basic technologies involved in electrical, hydraulics and fuel systems
- Knowledge of appropriate health and safety standards and regulations
- Knowledge of computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e. Microsoft Office suite)
- Knowledge of principles and practices of supervision and training
- Knowledge of proper methods of storing equipment, materials and supplies
- Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, technology, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management and project management skills
- Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite)
- Strong attention to detail and follow up skills
- Strong customer service skills and phone etiquette
