Location: Sioux Lookout
We are seeking an experienced Chef
. The role involves menu development, preparation of ready-to-eat meals, catering orders, and maintaining high-quality and food safety standards. The ideal candidate is creative, organized, and experienced in managing a small kitchen while ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Plan, create, and develop menus, seasonal offerings, and catering options.
- Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes, portion standards, and quality requirements.
- Train and mentor deli staff on food preparation techniques, portion control, and quality standards.
- Monitor inventory, order ingredients, and ensure kitchen equipment is maintained and operational.
- Maintain consistent food presentation, portion control, and high-quality standards across all products.
- Develop meal costing and pricing to support gross profit targets for the deli.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations.
- Collaborate with management to improve menu offerings, optimize workflows, and support operational efficiency.
- Work in all areas of the deli as required to support daily operations and maintain service standards.
- Assist in creating visually appealing retail displays that optimize product flow and support cross-merchandising opportunities.
Permanent Full-Time (40 hours/week)
Wage/Salary$24.00/hour to $28.00/hour (Based on Experience)

Post-secondary education or formal training in Culinary Arts (preferred)
Work ExperienceMinimum 2 years of experience as a chef or senior cook in a commercial or catering kitchen
Language of WorkEnglish (Bilingual – French/English is an asset)
Anticipated Start DateApril 1, 2026
TransportationFresh Market Foods will pay for the one-time round-trip transportation costs of the successful candidate to our location and back to the successful candidates permanent residence at the end of the applicable work period.
