Facilities Maintenance Worker, Seasonal
The Kenosha County Facilities Division is accepting applications for Short-Term Seasonal Maintenance Workers for the 2026 season. If you are a hardworking and self-motivating individual who enjoys the outdoors and can assist in the maintenance of County Facilities, this could be the job for you! We are looking for staff who can maintain a safe environment, enforce rules, and consistently act in a manner that earns and merits the respect and confidence of patrons.
2026 Hiring Range: $16.00 to $18.00 per hour
Work Schedule
- Work hours are typically Monday through Friday from 6:30 A.M. to 2:30 P.M.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Mow and maintain lawns
- Operate all vehicles and equipment as assigned
- Perform general maintenance of buildings, grounds, flower beds, athletic fields, and parkways
- Assist in forestry operations
- Perform other duties as required or assigned
Job Requirements, Education, and Experience
- Must be at least 16 years old at time of application
- Must possess a valid driver's license at time of hire and maintain during incumbency, with acceptable driving record

- Knowledge of general maintenance work with the most efficient utilization of equipment
- Knowledge of safety precautions and procedures applicable to maintenance equipment
- Skill in the use of small hand tools and cleaning equipment
- Ability to perform outdoor semi-skilled and skilled tasks related to ground and facilities maintenance
- Ability to accept, understand, and follow written and/or verbal instruction
- Ability to work with limited oversight on projects and daily assignments
- Ability to work independently to meet deadlines
- Ability to work effectively and harmoniously with the public, employees, and others
- Ability to work respectfully in a diverse and inclusive environment

- Requires full range of physical movement – bending, reaching, lifting, etc.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
