The Facility Maintenance Worker II Position at Lake Barkley Resort State Park will play a major role in coordinating and performing work with the general maintenance, janitorial needs and upkeep of buildings. Also, with the upkeep of the grounds and associated equipment belonging to the park.

This individual must be an energetic, positive person with the ability to communicate in person, via email or by phone. Lake Barley’s main objective for the Maintenance Worker II’s experience is to serve as a lead worker with our general maintenance team.

• Be courteous and professional at all times, while displaying a professional image through appearance and dress.
• Work well as a team leader and a team player.
• Be friendly when coming in contact with our guests.
• Must be knowledgeable of the park and all park facilities.
• Be able to answer guest questions about the park and surrounding areas.
• Helping the guests feel safe and comfortable in any accommodation or facility.

• Coordinate and perform maintenance work of buildings, grounds and equipment.
• Assisting the supervisor in any maintenance of buildings, grounds and equipment.
• Coordinate the work of employees and perform maintenance and repair of plumbing, sewage systems, electrical systems, and associated equipment.
• Make carpentry repairs to buildings and equipment.
• Perform janitorial duties in maintaining buildings and adjacent areas.
• Paint surfaces and operates machinery and equipment.
• Provide assistance to other skilled trade persons.
• Will be required to use hand tools and lift items in excess of 20 pounds.
• Perform all duties assigned.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR

SKILLS:

One year of building maintenance, grounds maintenance, general trades, skilled trades, moving services, or mechanical maintenance experience.

Substitute EDUCATION for

EXPERIENCE:

Formal training in one of the above or related fields will substitute for the experience on a year-for-year basis.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Must be 18 years of age.

Incumbents in this job title may be exposed to extreme temperatures which requires the following of safety procedures. Must follow safety procedures, such as utilization of eye and ear protection, when utilizing certain mechanical equipment.

This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
