JOB DESCRIPTION:

SCHOOL CUSTODIAN 1017.02AR

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High school graduate.
Experience in plant maintenance.
Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.
Push, pull or lift 40 pounds; kneel and reach above your head.

JOB GOAL:

To maintain a clean and neat appearance of the assigned facility.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Keeps building and premises, including sidewalks, driveways and play areas neat and clean at all times according to work assignment schedule prepared by the School Plant Operator.

Shovels, plow and/or sands walks and steps as directed by the School Plant Operator.

Sweeps classrooms, dusts furniture, and cleans all chalkboards according to work assignment schedule prepared by the School Plant Operator.

Cleans corridors after school each day and during the day according to work assignment scheduled prepared by the School Plant Operator.

Scrubs, hoses down and disinfects toilet floors daily and cleans all sanitary fixtures and drinking fountains according to work assignment schedule prepared by the School Plant Operator.

Washes all windows on both the inside and outside at least twice each year and more frequently if necessary according to work assignment schedule prepared by the School Plant Operator.

Keeps all floors in a clean and attractive condition and in a good state of preservation according to work assignment schedule prepared by the School Plant Operator.

Report major repairs needed promptly to the School Plant Operator.

Other duties as assigned by the School Plant Operator.

Performs reasonable requests made by school personnel.

Opens and secures building and notifies supervisor immediately of lost or misplaced keys of district.

Cleans, stores and handles OCBE equipment properly.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Compensation will be based on 260 contract days and on the board-approved 104 salary schedule. This position requires an 8-hour workday.
