Custodian Worker, Part-time

The City of Crestwood Parks and Recreation Department is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Part-Time Custodial Worker.

This position is responsible for cleaning and general facility maintenance at the Community Center. Duties include equipment setup and takedown, routine custodial work, and light to moderate facility maintenance. The position involves moderate physical exertion, including frequent lifting and moving of equipment, and may require evening and weekend hours.

  Part-time, approximately 15–20 hours per week
• Pay Rate
  : $15 per hour

• Perform all routine cleaning tasks for the Community Center, including vacuuming, mopping, dusting, waxing, buffing, window cleaning, trash and recycling removal, restroom cleaning and disinfection, and stocking supplies
• Maintain cleanliness of facility exterior areas, including entrances and adjacent sidewalks
• Set up and take down equipment for recreation programs, private parties, special events, and meetings
• Maintain recreation program and custodial equipment as needed
• Perform basic maintenance on cleaning equipment, including changing filters, belts, hoses, and other routine upkeep
• Remove snow from facility entrances, steps, sidewalks, and adjacent areas
• Inspect the building for safety hazards and correct issues when possible or notify a supervisor
• Open and/or close the Community Center as scheduled
• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment and assist with ordering as needed
• Perform other related duties as assigned by a supervisor or other City staff
• Pick up and deliver equipment and supplies related to facility maintenance
• Assist in maintaining a safe environment for participants, visitors, and staff

• Knowledge of standard cleaning methods, materials, and equipment, including safety procedures
• Knowledge of minor to moderate facility maintenance practices
• Ability to operate hand and electric cleaning equipment
• Physical stamina to perform tasks requiring lifting, bending, standing, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions
• Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively as part of a team

• Electric vacuums, wet vacuums, and carpet extraction systems
• Floor buffers and tile scrubbers
• Brooms, mops, dust mops, squeegees, and cleaning tools
• Hand tools such as screwdrivers, hammers, and socket wrenches
• Snow removal equipment, including snow blowers and shovels

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license required

Must be able to pass a police background check and drug screening
