The Floor Technician at Aramark Senior LIFE+ is responsible for executing floor care maintenance, sanitation, and waste disposal to ensure a clean and welcoming environment for residents. This role specializes in floor cleaning, stripping, waxing, and carpet care while also being flexible to assist with general EVS duties, including room cleaning when required. We are seeking a detail-oriented, reliable, and skilled professional who takes pride in their work and is committed to maintaining high cleanliness standards in a senior living environment.
Job Responsibilities- Floor Care & Maintenance
- Perform floor care procedures, including scrubbing, stripping, waxing, burnishing, and buffing hard surfaces.
- Operate industrial floor care equipment, such as auto-scrubbers, buffers, carpet extractors, and vacuums.
- Conduct regular carpet maintenance, including vacuuming, spot cleaning, shampooing, and deep extraction.
- Maintain hallways, lobbies, and common areas in pristine condition through scheduled cleaning routines.
- Environmental Services Support
- Assist with room cleaning as needed to maintain a safe and sanitary resident environment.
- Clean and maintain elevators, including tracks, walls, and control panels, ensuring a polished appearance.
- Organize and replenish supply closets, ensuring proper stocking and storage of cleaning materials.
- Refill chemical dispensers and prepare disinfectant solutions following product guidelines.
- Trash & Waste Management
- Perform regular trash runs, ensuring proper collection, removal, and disposal of waste.
- Handle and dispose of medical and infectious waste in accordance with safety and regulatory guidelines.
- Disinfect waste bins and carts regularly to maintain sanitation.
- Safety, Compliance, & Infection Control
- Follow all OSHA, EPA, and infection control standards to ensure resident and staff safety.
- Adhere to PPE requirements, including gloves, masks, and protective gear.
- Promptly report any maintenance or safety issues to management.
- Additional Duties
- Maintain a friendly and professional demeanor with residents, visitors, and team members.
- Assist with major cleaning projects, including freezers, storage areas, and deep facility cleans.
- Follow established cleaning schedules and respond to urgent cleaning needs as required.
- Support the EVS team by performing additional duties as assigned.
1+ years of floor care or environmental services experience, preferably in healthcare, senior living, or hospitality. Knowledge of floor maintenance techniques, including waxing, buffing, and carpet extraction. Ability to operate and maintain industrial cleaning equipment. Strong attention to detail and adherence to cleaning protocols. Completion of safety training on chemical handling and equipment usage. Familiarity with infection control procedures (preferred). Flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and varying shifts.
A willingness to assist with room cleaning when needed. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and high-quality results. Physical requirements include the ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks such as bending, pushing, and pulling. Must wear appropriate PPE and follow all safety procedures.
