Position Summary
The purpose of this position is to secure loads for The Preload Operation run by Fraley and Schilling. The primary goal is to secure trailer loads of stainless steel products on flatbed trailers safely and efficiently.
Roles and ResponsibilitiesAdhere to all 1955 Services policies and procedures (safety, attendance, etc)
Maintain a professional attitude and communication at all times with customers, co-workers, management, etc
Maintain a clean and professional personal appearance and work environment (keep equipment clean, organized, etc)
Make himself/herself available for that customer as needed up to seven (7) days per week for any task, lane or schedule that the customer requests and/or requires
In the event that the normal work assignment is not available (shutdowns, etc) the driver will be available for similar work in regards to available hours (schedule), as long as he/she is properly trained and/or supervised.
Assist in setting up loading positions and securement equipment
Perform load securement task (per carrier specifications) as outlined during each carrier's completion of the onboarding process, ensuring that securement is compliant with a minimum of the FMSCA Regulations
Responsible for making sure that product is properly loaded on the trailers.
Ability to strap and or chain the load depending if it's a Securement or non Securement.
Ability to tarp loads using the tarps provided.
Skills and QualificationsProvide leadership and direction to create process improvements and establish a team environment
Lift apx 75 – 100 lbs multiple times
Train on the job for all your job duties.
Equip trailers and set them up according to proper load standards.
Ability to wear proper PPE to ensure safety. Required PPE includes a hard hat, safety glasses, ear plugs, protective sleeves, gloves, metatarsal boots.
Adhere to all NAS safety policies.
Education and ExperienceHigh School Diploma (GED)
