Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable individual to join our team as a Custodian at Kelly Elementary School. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. This full-time position requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

• Perform daily cleaning and maintenance tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas.
• Ensure that all cleaning supplies and equipment are maintained and stored properly.
• Assist with the setup and breakdown of school events, including moving furniture and equipment as needed.
• Monitor and report any maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate personnel.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment for all students and staff.
• Conduct routine inspections to ensure cleanliness and safety standards are met.
• Respond to urgent cleaning requests in a timely manner.
• Support the school’s recycling and waste management programs.
• Collaborate with other staff members to ensure the overall cleanliness and functionality of the school facility.
• Attend training sessions and meetings as required.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous custodial or cleaning experience is a plus, but not required.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects, as well as perform physical tasks throughout the day.
• Familiarity with cleaning chemicals and safety procedures.
• Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with others.
• Must pass background checks and adhere to school policies and regulations.
• Flexibility to work evenings or weekends as needed for special events or cleaning tasks.
