Job Description Substitute CUSTODIAN Qualifications- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Physical condition allows the lifting of heavy loads, including lifting of tables and chairs, moving of furniture, etc.
- Must meet Physical Performance Requirements.
- Such additional qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.
Reports: Principal, Head Custodian/Custodial Supervisor, Director of District Wide Services

Job Goal: To provide students with a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean, and efficient place in which to learn, play, and develop.
Basic Function: Perform routine custodial activities at an assigned school site or facility. Maintain buildings, locker rooms, and adjacent ground areas in a clean, orderly, and secure condition.
Performance Responsibilities- Cleans classrooms, restrooms, showers, locker rooms, shops, cafeteria, offices and related facilities as assigned; cleans furniture, walls, floors, and ceilings. Prepares facility for special functions.
- Cleans and disinfects plumbing and wall fixtures.
- Reports safety, sanitary, and fire hazards to appropriate authority; recommends maintenance repairs and makes minor repairs as needed; maintains security of buildings; reports suspicious or unauthorized individuals on campus; reports infractions of rules to supervisor.
- Complies with occupational health and safety codes and standards.
- Locks and unlocks doors and gates as appropriate; maintains security of assigned areas according to established guidelines; notifies supervisor of equipment and supply needs.
- Maintains school grounds, removes trash and debris, sweeps and cleans walkways and entrances, disposes of trash according to established procedures, washes trashcans, and follows sanitation standards; mows, trims, rakes, etc.
- Conducts regular maintenance of fixtures and heating/air conditioning units.
- Loads, unloads, and stores school supplies, materials, and other items.
- Operates, cleans, and maintains tools and equipment.
- Responds to emergency cleanup such as spills; maintains records of observed maintenance, repair needs, and safety issues.
- Attends training activities as directed by supervisor.
- Reports to work even beyond normal working hours, when emergency situations occur such as snow removal, broken water pipes, electrical problems, etc.
- Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as may be assigned by Custodial Supervisor, Principal, Director of District Operations/Designee, or the Superintendent.
Term of Service: Salary and workdays/jobs to be established by the Board.
Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Classified Personnel.
Position Type: Part-Time
Salary: $14.19 Per Hour
Job Requirements- High School/Trade School degree preferred.
