Job Summary

This role is centered on providing expert troubleshooting, repair and calibration of Topcon products. Besides servicing the instruments, responsibilities include maintaining accurate service records, offering technical support to the Topcon dealer network, participating in engineering evaluations and failure analysis, developing test fixtures, procedures, work instructions and service manuals, and conducting repair training for the dealer network and junior technicians in virtual and classroom settings.

Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot, repair and calibrate all Topcon products, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Maintain accurate service records and enter relevant information into the service database.
  • Provide technical repair support via phone or email to assist the Topcon dealer network.
  • Assist in engineering evaluations, failure analysis and generate reports with recommendations for improvement.
  • Develop test fixtures, troubleshooting stations, procedures, work instructions and service manuals.
  • Conduct repair training for the Topcon dealer network and junior technicians, both virtually and in classroom environments.
Education and Experience
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in an electronics repair role within a manufacturing/service setting.
  • AA in electronics or related technology, or equivalent military training.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Familiarity with test equipment such as multimeters and oscilloscopes to diagnose and adjust optical, mechanical and electronic instruments.
Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to work with multifunctional teams.
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Electronic and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Knowledge of software and firmware loading with PCs (e.g., installing and uninstalling drivers for PC hardware, loading operating system and BIOS).
  • Working knowledge of laser and surveying instruments is preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Position may require bending, carrying, kneeling, lifting and walking.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. with assistance.
Working Conditions
  • Work in an environmentally controlled work area and outside environments.
  • 20% travel may be required.
Compensation

Expected Base Pay Range: $80,000 to $118,000 annualized. The base pay range is a projected hiring range for this position, level, and potential work location(s) listed. Topcon provides the compensation range that it in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position. This compensation range is based on a full‑time schedule.

In addition to base pay, compensation for this position includes eligibility for certain bonuses.
