Position Overview
This position is responsible for assisting the Supervisor in coordinating the daily responsibilities of the department by ensuring the Supervisor’s instructions are communicated to the team members and carried out in a timely and correct manner. The role also entails troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
Responsibilities- Maintain and promote the Tyson safety culture.
- Receive training as required.
- Perform various positions as required/assigned.
- Assist the maintenance supervisor with personnel and equipment.
- Assign maintenance technicians to equipment during process periods.
- Assist with preventive maintenance and breakdowns.
- Train maintenance technicians on equipment.
- Utilize the computer-based PM program to track equipment maintenance.
- Fill in for absenteeism or assist in other areas of the plant.
General Maintenance Lead positions are responsible for training new General Maintenance Team Members and keeping machinery running to maintain continuous production. Responsibilities include setting up, adjusting, and breaking down production line machinery; learning Tyson SAP software to create work orders and fill out daily documentation; performing calculations for machinery and fluid capacities using mathematics; lifting up to 70 lbs. periodically throughout the shift;
working on your feet for a period of 12 hours; and completing all required training.
- Minimum of 6 months of mechanic work experience or graduate and/or student of an industrial maintenance training program.
- Willingness to complete all required training for the job.
- Ability to use math for work‑related computations.
- Physical fitness to lift 70 lbs. and work a 12‑hour shift on feet.
