Field/Service Technician, Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Environmental Field Technician – Calvert City, KY
Our US East Environmental business is looking for an Environmental Field Technician to join their field team in Calvert City, KY. As a Field Technician, you will support a variety of remediation and O&M projects throughout the region. Day to day you will see yourself involved in operation of pump pulling units, pump installation and troubleshooting, operation of small backhoes and forklifts, welding and torch operation, jobsite housekeeping, performing groundwater monitoring and remediation system operation and maintenance tasks, performing soil & groundwater sampling, and supporting clients during emergency response and remediation projects.
Playing with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
- Solutions Analysis:
Find the most effective ways to respond to routine functional inquiries. Involves following procedures and precedents. - Health, Safety, and Environment:
Follow the organization's health, safety, and environment (HSE) policies, procedures, and mandatory instructions to identify and mitigate risks and to safeguard the environment and the well‑being of self and others. - Personal Capability Building:
Develop and maintain excellent process or technical skills by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching. - Testing:
Develop testing standards and procedures under the direction of professional colleagues. - Operational Compliance:
Develop knowledge and understanding of the organization's policies and procedures and of relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct to ensure own work adheres to those standards. Obtain authorization from a supervisor or manager for any exceptions from mandatory procedure. - Technical Troubleshooting:
Perform basic tasks in technical troubleshooting, such as identifying evident technical issues with equipment and experiments and assisting in basic diagnostic actions.
- High School Diploma/GED required
- Up to 3 years of environmental experience preferred
- Ability and willingness to perform field work 100% of the time
- Ability and willingness to travel, including some overnights, as needed
- Valid driver’s license; CDL Class A preferred (or must be able to obtain CDL)
- OSHA 40hr HAZWOPER training a plus
