Job Description
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education Level: High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Certification/License
Required:
Valid Georgia Driver’s License - Experience:
Minimum 1 year in trade - Physical
Activities:
Routine physical activities that are required to fulfill job responsibilities; ability to manually move, lift, carry, pull, or push heavy objects or materials; walking, standing, kneeling, reaching, negotiating stairs and ladders, ability to lift and transport 75 pounds - Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Written and oral communication; ability to correctly andsafely operate all tools, test equipment, County vehicles and equipment; ability to initiate and complete work orders.
Facilities and Maintenance Director
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:- Demonstrate prompt and regular attendance.
- Maintain school buildings and grounds in top condition to ensure full and productive use of district facilities.
- Assist in promoting the safety, health, and comfort of students and employees in school buildings and grounds.
- Maintain a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency in all maintenance and repair projects.
- Perform preventive maintenance, repair, and installation in connection with:
- a. electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
- b. exterior and interior of buildings.
- c. school grounds.
- Move equipment and materials within and between school buildings.
- Complete paperwork for preventive maintenance records, inspection reports, repair orders, and labor sheets.
- Communicate effectively with all members of the school district and community.
- Work overtime when emergencies arise in order to prevent disruption of the schools.
- Observe district policies at all times.
- Keep abreast of new information, innovative ideas and techniques.
- Perform other duties as assigned by appropriate administrator.
12-month position. Salary based on Board approved salary.
EVALUATION:Performance of this job will be evaluated annually by the Facilities & Maintenance Director or designee.
