Location: Northern

Position Function

Under the direction of the Director of Public Works or Designee, performs assigned duties to manage the logistics of effective and efficient maintenance, repair, "surplusing", and replacement of City vehicles, equipment, fuel system, and City facilities and warehouse. Responsible for inventorying.

Essential Duties % of Performance

Performs assigned duties to manager the logistics of effective and efficient maintenance, repair, "surplusing", and/or replacement of City vehicles, equipment, fuel system, and buildings. Duties include, but are not limited to: scheduling, monitoring, and execution of predictive/preventative maintenance; diagnosis, evaluation, and coordination of repair work; performance of minor maintenance and repairs; and ensure compliance of vehicles/equipment within local, State, and/or Federal regulations through proper licensing and certification.

Responsible for the coordination of all contract vendors for the maintenance, repair and procurement of vehicles and equipment. 35%

Performs duties to: maintain accurate record keeping through databases, records, etc. Ensure accurate billing through careful review of invoices and credit card reconciliation. Assist with budget preparation, training of staff in department procedures/processes and CDL preparation. Responsible for orders, returns, inventory, and manages all material supply and warehouse equipment related to activities. 35%

Responsible for maintaining the Municipal Service Center buildings, equipment, and grounds. Duties include, but are not limited to: monitor, inspection, and maintenance of HVAC system and security system; regular inspection of buildings and grounds; evaluation of janitorial work; scheduling of repair/replacement for equipment; and communicate/coordinate with vendors related to building, equipment, and coordination of grounds maintenance. Responsible for inventory. 15%

Performs assigned duties to maintain the City fuel system. Responsible for proper inspection and maintenance; maintenance and regulation of fuel supply; TCEQ regulatory compliance; recording keeping; data analysis; and act as administrator of the fuel system access program. 10%

Performs additional duties as assigned. 5%

Environment

Duties are performed primarily within an office and shop environment or setting. Exposure to electrical and chemical hazards; odor; vibration; noise; inclement weather; moving parts and/or components; and dust, allergens, or mold.

Requirements/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Required knowledge and experience is normally obtained through the completion of a curriculum resulting in either a High School Diploma or GED, and five (5) to seven (7) years of work experience in automotive and mechanical industry, warehouse or facility management, and/or related field are required.

Class A and B Underground Storage Tank (UST) Facility Operator certification from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) required. Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification preferred.

Must be able to communicate and present oneself in a professional manner.

Must be able to understand and comprehend technical instructions and manuals.
