Totino-Grace High School is seeking a Groundskeeper to ensure that the 30-acre campus grounds, athletic fields, landscape displays, and overall facility exterior are maintained in superior condition, providing a safe, aesthetically pleasing, and highly functional environment for students, staff, and visitors.
General Responsibilities of Faith-Based / Catholic School Employment: Employment in a faith-based high school setting is substantially integrated with the school's mission. Essential Representative Responsibilities 1. Campus & Athletic Field Maintenance (30-Acre Campus)- Turf & Horticulture Management: Develop and execute professional turf management and landscape horticulture programs across all 30 acres. Collaborate with external turf management companies as needed to create long-term fertilization, aeration, over seeding, and weed control plans.
- Athletic Fields: Oversee and implement regular mowing, trimming, irrigation, line marking, and surface preparation for all outdoor sports fields (football, soccer, baseball, softball, track, lacrosse, etc.) to ensure playability, safety, and durability regardless of weather conditions.
- Landscape & Hardscape Care: Maintain beds, shrubs, trees, flower displays, and native plant areas. Keep all walkways, parking lots, stairs, and court surfaces (e.g., tennis courts) clean, weed-free, and safe.

- Site Facilities: Prepare and mark off- site athletic surfaces or satellite field areas as needed; coordinate the delivery and collection of athletic goals and equipment. - Seasonal & Snow Operations: Execute comprehensive seasonal grounds duties including leaf collection, spring/fall cleanup, and full winter snow removal (shoveling, salting, operating trucks and skid steers) with a focus on timeliness and safety.
- Small Engine & Vehicle Repair: Perform routine diagnostics, preventative maintenance (oil/fluid changes, blade sharpening, filter replacements), and repairs on all grounds equipment, small engines, lawnmowers, tractors, utility vehicles, trucks, and heavy machinery.
- Technical & Systems Aptitude: Troubleshoot and repair computerized landscape equipment, automated irrigation controllers/systems, and related facility infrastructure. Leverage modern software systems for work orders, preventative maintenance scheduling, and facility tracking.
- Equipment Fleet Procurement: Collaborate with the Director of Facilities & Technology to evaluate, select, and purchase appropriate vehicles and machinery for groundskeeping operations.
- Team Supervision & Workflow: Assign work, supervise, and evaluate Grounds Assistants, seasonal maintenance workers, and student workers. Ensure projects are completed safely and efficiently.

Maintain highly organized work areas, tool shops, and inventory systems. Plan long-range seasonal workflows and day-to-day schedules to meet tight event and athletic deadlines. - Budget Management: In collaboration with the Director of Facilities & Technology and Chief Financial Officer, assist in preparing the annual grounds budget and monitor all expenditures to ensure adherence to financial plans.
- Communication & Professional Growth: Maintain prompt, clear communication with colleagues, athletic directors, coaches, administrators, and external contractors via email, phone, and digital management systems. Participate in professional development, safety workshops, and industry conferences.
