Job Summary
Performs manual labor and maintenance work in support of Environmental Response Team (ERT) operations. Assists with property cleanup, debris removal, and nuisance abatement activities to support code enforcement and maintain community safety and appearance.
- Performs manual labor including removal of debris, trash, weeds, and hazardous materials.
- Assists with cleanup and remediation of properties in violation of City codes.
- Loads, transports, and disposes of materials in accordance with procedures.
- Assists with securing unsafe structures and properties.
- Supports Code Compliance and ERT Crew Leader in completing assigned tasks.
- Participates in enforcement-related cleanup activities.
- Uses hand tools, power tools, and equipment safely and effectively.
- Follows safety procedures and uses personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Reports unsafe conditions, equipment issues, or hazards.
- Works as part of a team to complete assigned field tasks.
- Follows direction from ERT Crew Leader and supervisory staff.
- Assists in maintaining organized work areas and equipment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Experience in manual labor, maintenance, or related field preferred.
- Basic maintenance and cleanup practices.
- Safety procedures and use of equipment.
- Performing manual labor and physical tasks.

- Following instructions and safety guidelines.
- Perform physically demanding work.

Physical Requirements
Work involves heavy physical labor including frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of debris, materials, and equipment. Requires prolonged standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, and repetitive motion. May require lifting and moving objects in excess of 100 pounds. Requires physical stamina to perform continuous manual labor in outdoor conditions.
Working Conditions
Work is performed primarily outdoors with exposure to weather conditions including heat, cold, wind, and precipitation. Field work involves exposure to debris, hazardous materials, unsanitary conditions, and potentially unsafe environments. Requires use of tools, equipment, and vehicles in active work areas. Position may involve interaction with the public during enforcement-related activities. Subject to drug and alcohol testing and driver's license monitoring.
