The Custodial Associate ensures our multilevel retail store remains clean, safe, and welcoming for every guest. This role supports daily operations by maintaining high standards of cleanliness across sales floors, restrooms, back ‑ of ‑ house areas, elevators, stairwells, and high ‑ traffic zones. The Custodial Associate is reliable, detail ‑ oriented, and committed to delivering an exceptional guest experience through consistent upkeep of the store environment.
Responsibilities- Maintain cleanliness across all levels of the store, including sales floors, restrooms, elevators, stairwells, and employee areas
- Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, trash removal, and surface sanitization
- Monitor high ‑ traffic areas throughout the day to ensure they remain tidy, safe, and presentable
- Clean and restock restrooms, ensuring supplies are replenished and facilities meet brand standards
- Support opening and closing routines by preparing the store environment for daily operations
- Respond promptly to spills, hazards, or urgent cleaning needs to maintain a safe environment for guests and employees
- Assist with back ‑ of ‑ house cleanliness, including stockrooms, breakrooms, and receiving areas
- Ensures enclosed spaces are cleaned and sanitized for a safe, comfortable experience
- Maintain cleaning equipment and report any maintenance needs or safety concerns
- Follow all safety, sanitation, and chemical ‑ handling procedures
- Collaborate with store leadership and operations teams to prioritize cleaning needs based on traffic patterns, events, and promotional activity
- Support special projects such as seasonal deep cleans, floor resets, and event preparation
- 1–2 years of custodial, janitorial, or facilities maintenance experience, preferably in retail, hospitality, or large public environments
- Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail
- Comfortable navigating a multilevel store environment, including stairs, elevators, and escalators
- Reliability and consistency in attendance and task follow ‑ through
- Basic knowledge of cleaning equipment, supplies, and safety protocols
- Experience in a high ‑ volume retail location
- Familiarity with commercial cleaning tools and floorcare equipment
- Comfort working during peak traffic periods, weekends, and holidays
- High conscientiousness and pride in maintaining a polished environment
- Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach to identifying cleaning needs
- Steady, consistent work pace with reliable task execution
- Cooperative team orientation and willingness to support store operations
- Dependable follow ‑ through and commitment to routine
- Multi‑level, high traffic, retail location
- Lifting >40lbs.
- Ability to work a typical retail schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Active retail store management requires the ability to sit, stand, and move around for at least eight hours a day
- Ability to work within a confined space
