Status: Non-Exempt
Position Purpose: Lead the mechanical/electrical maintenance technicians to provide maintenance services to all manufacturing and support areas while working within an approved budget. Focus on safety, quality, on-time performance, training, and maintenance reliability program to ensure optimal performance is achieved.
Principle Accountabilities
Ensure safe work practices and procedures are followed. Identify unsafe conditions and take corrective action on those within your control. Report all others immediately to site management. Suggest ideas for safety related improvements to the process or procedures.Perform routine safety and environmental audits within established guidelines to ensure compliance with OSHA and other governmental agency regulations.Participate and/or support as a resource the Intertape Performance System (IPS) Safety Teams to ensure that the maintenance crew is knowledgeable of site safety requirements. Participate in safety audits such as the safety observation program.Provide the appropriate safety orientation for site contractors. Ensure pre-shift safety huddle occurs, as well as complete all required safety training on time.Ensure procedures and practices are maintained to support the maintenance reliability program.Ensure operators are trained to be effective in PM activities.Schedule and assign work to maintenance personnel from daily schedule. Ensure maintenance workflow coordinates with production requirements. Enter work orders into a database (CMMS).Maintain all operating equipment in like new condition. Schedule needed repair to have minimum production interference.Ensure Red Tag Program is up to date and accurate.Assure that production equipment is capable of producing within the established specifications and tolerance.Assist Engineering with projects such as modifications to existing equipment and facilities, or installations of new equipment.Identify material, supplies and/or parts needed for maintenance. Requisition these parts through Purchasing.Review maintenance work requirements: identify if target completion dates will be met, amount of work to be accomplished, and resources needed. Advise Manufacturing Manager of any issues or delays.Review maintenance work requests to control and schedule unpredictable work as requested by Manufacturing.Review maintenance technicians’ skill proficiency to provide input for training and certification program.Prepares and reviews maintenance records and reports to identify trends or areas of concern. Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs. Advises manufacturing management of findings.Write work instructions and procedures for the maintenance team and related work activities that support the site.Knowledgeable of hazards, special instructions and precautions as outlined in Safety Data Sheets (SDS).Maintains a safe and clean work working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.Provide off hours support to maintenance team.Partner with Department Manufacturing Manager to coordinate shift coverage for vacation and other absences.The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) requires Intertape Polymer Group Midland, NC facility to comply with DHS Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards (CFATS) program requirements to identify affected individuals with terrorist ties. Intertape Polymer Group Midland, NC facility has opted to comply with this requirement by collecting and submitting the personally identifiable information (PII) of affected individuals to DHS for the purpose of comparing that PII against information pertaining to known and suspected terrorists maintained by the Federal Government in the Terrorist Screening Database (TSDB).
Affected individuals are: (1) facility personnel (e.g., employees and contractors) with access, or seeking access, (unescorted or otherwise) to restricted areas or critical assets; and (2) unescorted visitors with access, or seeking access, to restricted areas or critical assets. Affected individuals will undergo recurrent vetting against the TSDB.Related tasks as requested by manager.Essential Skills and Experience
