Technician I - Excavation
Position Overview The Technician I – Excavation is responsible for handling coal, doing shift checks, cleaning area, and learning about operational processes through observation.
Essential job functions include, but are not limitedto:
Handle coal, does shift checks, and cleans up.
Learn about operational processes and different equipment through observation; may begin to operate equipment under close supervision.
Participate in tailgate meetings; identify topics and contribute to safety related discussions; and identifies or stops potentially unsafe work practices.
Other duties as assigned.
Skills, Knowledge, Qualities:
Ability to read, interpret and carry out complex written and oral instructions.
Highly motivated with willingness to work extended hours when necessary
Upon selection, must complete required training and qualification program
Education, Training,
Experience:
Completion of a two-year course of study at a recognized trade,technical or vocational school or related experience is preferred
Certificates, Registrations, Licenses:
Valid Oklahoma driver’s license
May be required to secure NCCER certification on specifiedequipment before advancement
Physical Requirements:
Physically able to climb stairs and move rapidly in an industrial environment
Will be required to work outside and in inclement weather asneeded
Safety and protective gear required and provided by GRDAOther information:
Position is located at the Grand River Energy Center (GREC) in Chouteau, OK Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications
