Position Title:Facilities Manager

We are seeking a proactive, highly skilled, and adaptable Facilities Managerto oversee our physical campus, maintenance operations, and daily building logistics. We offer a competitive salary range of $65,000 to $75,000 forthisfull-time,year-roundrole,givingyoutheopportunitytotaketrueownershipofourcampuswhileworking in a supportive, family-friendly school environment. Ina small school setting, this isa dynamic, "roll-up-your-sleeves"role.

The ideal candidate is a natural problem solverwhotakesprideinmaintainingasafe,clean,andfunctionallearningenvironment.

Youwillwear many hats daily, combining gritty hands-on repairs and manual labor with high-level vendor management, compliance tracking, and time-sensitive daily logistics.

Core Responsibilities

• Daily Campus Operations &Mealtime Logistics
  • Morning Activation:
    
    Openthebuildingeachmorningandmanagethedailyraisingandloweringofthe campus flags.
  • Meal Setups&Teardowns:
    
    Managethedailytransitionofthecafeteria/multi-purposespaceforbreakfast and lunch. Set up and fold down lunch tables, stage trash/recycling stations, and sweep/mop floor areas as needed between lunch waves.
  • Emergency&Biohazard Response:
    
    Serveastheprimaryemergencyresponderduringtheschooldayfor spills, broken glass, and bodily fluids (vomit, feces, urine, blood) using proper OSHA-compliant PPE and sanitization standards.
  • Restroom&Common Area Upkeep :
    
    Perform mid-daywalk-throughstoensurerestroomsremain stocked, clean, and fully operational throughout peak school hour
• Hands-On Building Maintenance &DIYRepair
  • General Repairs:
    
    Serve as the primary on-site handyman. Perform day-to-day repairs including fixing brokendoorhardware,assembling/repairing furniture,patching drywall,hanging whiteboards/shelving, and fixing locker mechanisms.
  • Plumbing&Electrical:
    
    Performlightplumbing(unclogging drains/toilets,fixingminorleaks,replacing faucet washers) and basic electrical work (changing bulbs/ballasts, resetting breakers, replacing outlet covers).
  • System Oversight:
    
    Monitorthedailyoperationofbuildingheating/cooling(HVAC),ventilation,and mechanical equipment; perform basic troubleshooting before escalating to specialized contractors.
• Grounds&Exterior Maintenance
  • Lawn Care&Landscaping:
    
    Operatetheschool'sridinglawnmowertomaintainathleticfieldsand campus lawns. Manage weed control, trimming, and general curb appeal.
  • Irrigation Management:
    
    Performminorsprinklersystemrepairs,includingreplacingbrokensprinkler heads, adjusting spray zones, and fixing surface drip lines.
  • Seasonal Transitions:
    
    Executefullseasonallandscapingsetups,includingturningonandprogramming the irrigation system for the spring, and fully draining and winterizing the system in the fall to prevent freeze damage.
• Morning Perimeter Walk :
  
  Conductacomprehensiveexteriorandinteriorwalk-throughfirstthingevery morning to check for safety hazards, weather damage, vandalism, or security breaches before staff and students arrive.
• Safety Compliance:
  
  Ensureallfireextinguishers,emergencyexitsigns,mainwatershut-offs,gasvalves, and electrical panels are accessible and compliant with local building codes.
• Life Safety Systems :
  
  Coordinateandparticipateinfire,tornado,andlockdowndrills.
  
  Maintain working knowledge of the Fire Alarm Control Panel (FACP).
