Summary of JobThe Lead Maintenance Technician is responsible for supporting the Maintenance Manager in maintaining the proper functioning of machinery and mechanical equipment by providing day-to-day technical guidance, coordination, and support to maintenance technicians. This position serves as an experienced resource for troubleshooting complex equipment issues, coordinating maintenance activities, supporting preventive maintenance completion, and promoting a safe, clean, and productive work environment. The Lead Maintenance Technician works closely with production, engineering, quality, and operations teams to maximize equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
They will also follow all OSHA and facility-specific protocols (including LOTO, Arc Flash, etc.) This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities but may provide work guidance, training, and technical assistance to team members.
- Perform the proper function of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing maintenance requirements (both planned and unplanned) on production, packaging and processing equipment, and utility systems.
- Successfully perform troubleshooting on Programmable Logic Control (PLC) and AC/DC drive systems.
- On call for emergency repairs in breakdown situations as necessary and provide planned off shift support as needed.
- Provide daily technical guidance, troubleshooting assistance, and support to maintenance technicians.
- Assist in coordinating shift maintenance activities and support timely completion of assigned work orders.
- Accurately read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, electrical schematics, service manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Support onboarding, skills development, and on-the-job training of maintenance technicians.
- Perform preventative maintenance (i.e., conducting computerized preventative maintenance check-ups or reading SPC charts and data) as needed.
- Ensure proper function of the line manufacturing support systems (line/lube delivery, resin delivery, process systems, operational support.)
- Accurately complete and document work orders promptly in CMMS to maintain high quality standards.
- Maintain communication with other departments, management, and employees; notifying them of problems and/or concerns that may restrict production efficiency.
- Complete all paperwork in a clear, legible, and accurate format, including all required information and documentation following Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's).
- Assist in maintaining parts and supplies inventory by checking parts out of inventory and assigning them to the proper work order, report low supply levels to Supervisor.
- Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe work area, including maintenance shop.
- Identify Critical Control Points (CCP).
- Follow all safety standards and protocols set forth by OSHA and Pregis.

- Adheres to the highest standards of company safety programs, guidelines, rules, and regulations including all personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements
