Position Purpose

Contributes to the effective operation of the Maintenance Department by implementing, expanding, and maintaining the Predictive Maintenance Program (PDM).

Works in conjunction with the Maintenance Manager to coordinate repairs on equipment, reduce unplanned downtime, and manage spare part usage in the CMMS.

Unpacks, inventories, and stocks items, and performs complex troubleshooting duties involving refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, or other specialized areas.

Job Functions

Implement, maintain, monitor, and update the Maintenance CMMS to assure it is accurate and functional.

Work closely with Craftsmen and Techs to assign Work Orders for work to be completed.

Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager to schedule time for needed machine repairs prior to breakdowns to reduce unscheduled downtime.

Develop and present reports concerning the progression of the PDM Program.

Maintain adequate records of work performed on equipment and corrective action taken.

Initiate Purchase Orders for repair parts or spare parts as needed, and for parts to upgrade existing equipment.

Order parts, materials, and supplies.

Prepare and ship packages.

Support GPI’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values (Integrity, Respect, Accountability, Relationships, and Teamwork).

Participate in GPI efforts for LEAN, 5S, Six Sigma, and other Continuous Improvement programs and processes.

Perform all other duties as assigned.

Strive to clearly understand customer requirements and deliver results to meet or exceed customer expectations.

Stop any process that is not meeting food safety requirements.

Stop any process that is not meeting customer quality requirements.

Serve as backup for the Maintenance Supervisor.

Job Specifications

Technical School/1 Year College, and/or 3 to 5 years of experience preferred.
Specialized skills required: computer programming, complex mechanical systems, trending reports, and excellent communication abilities.
