The primary function is to assist the ginner in making repairs and unchoking machinery and keep all areas clean.
What To Expect InThe Role
- Operates gin stands/lint cleaners.
- Helps with any choke-ups or repairs.
- Watches for and safely removes tags from gin stands.
- Regular visual inspections of belts/pulley and other abnormalities.
- Reports any abnormalities to the ginner.
- Keep work area clean/blown down to assist sweeper.
- In charge of lint cleaners during clean up
- High school diploma, GED preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Prior experience in a cotton gin and mechanical aptitude is helpful.
- Knowledge of how cotton gin machinery works and the ability to unchoke and repair when necessary.
