The Custodian, under supervision, provides daily general cleaning services in a variety of styles to campus buildings.

• Clean and maintain assigned buildings: sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, shampooing, extracting, stripping, waxing, and burnishing floors; dusting, disinfecting walls, windows, furniture, baseboards; cleaning offices, common areas, restrooms, kitchens, and meeting spaces; window cleaning and sweeping sidewalks and building entrances.
• Operate mechanical, electrical, and battery-operated machines as needed for custodial duties.
• Move equipment and furniture to allow proper cleaning and may require lifting tables and chairs.
• Collect and dispose of trash in accordance with approved procedures and infection control plans.
• Report broken or inoperable equipment, inventory/supply needs, water leaks, property damage, vandalism, and light bulb replacements to the Senior Custodian.
• Complete tasks assigned by supervisor.
• Participate in on-call duties for evenings, weekends, and special events.
• Act as a service responder during emergencies, weather events, and catastrophic incidents.

• Education:
  
  High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience:
  
  No prior experience required; training will be provided.
• Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
  Effective communication; positive and professional interaction with clients and staff; multitasking; cooperative teamwork.
• Physical requirements:
  
  Ability to load or unload custodial supplies and equipment; ability to lift and move furniture as required.

• Work beyond normal office hours and/or on weekends; shift work may be required.
• Position is security-sensitive.
• Requires export‑control authorization prior to employment.
• Must comply with state and federal laws, Texas A&M University System policies, regulations, rules and procedures.
• All tasks and job responsibilities must be performed safely without injury to self or others in compliance with System and University safety requirements.
