Job SummaryThe Lead Paint Technician position requires advanced knowledge of the paint process. The job includes varying amounts of general mechanical applications as listed below. Job duties will vary each day and a vast knowledge of strip and paint processes between the hangars is essential.
Key Responsibilities- Attend work every day as scheduled to include overtime and weekend assignments.
- Notify Manager/Director in advance of shift starting if unable to work for any reason.
- Overseeing the processes of prepping and painting aircraft per manufacturers maintenance manuals.
- Follow all company and safety rules during performance of duties.
- Sanding, priming, painting and detailing of aircraft.
- Training individual team members to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
- Scheduling with parts department to ensure necessary materials required to complete the jobs are available.
- Paint shop quality control to include buying off of all processes.
- Delegation of maintaining the premises of the paint shop and work facilities in a clean and orderly manner.
- Many duties of the Paint Shop Lead may be delegated by him to qualified subordinates as deemed necessary; however, such delegation does not relieve the tech of the overall responsibility.
- Any other job-related duties assigned by Manager/Supervisor or Director.
- Ability to use Air equipment, polisher, and sander.
- Stripper pump, electrostatic paint guns, pressure posts, and laser level.
- Being a self-starter who is highly motivated with strong initiative
- A valid driver's license approved for airline travel
- Must have regular attendance and be able to work overtime when needed and potentially work alternate shifts as determined by aircraft schedules and manpower needs.
- Self-motivated, able to work unsupervised and maintain a rapid pace. Quality oriented.
- Ability to read detailed drawings and understand renderings. Follow all company and safety rules during performance of duties.
- Maintain customer service-oriented work habits.
- Work is done primarily outdoors; must be comfortable working in all weather conditions.
- Must be available and flexible to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays
- Basic Understanding of Computer Applications and Data Entries.
- Ability to proficiently read, write, and speak English.
