Overview

The Custodian is responsible for cleanliness and sanitation of all assigned areas.

Roles & Responsibilities

Perform janitorial duties as per daily schedule.
Perform Hazardous Waste responsibilities including collecting, classifying, sorting, storing, shipping and receiving, labeling, cleaning, recycling, packaging special and hazardous waste.
Operate motorized cleaning equipment.
Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area.
Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor.
Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures.
Stop at risk behavior of others and self.
Perform work assignments in a team with other employees.
Perform repetitive tasks.
Maintain clean work area.
Follow all protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules.
Take direction and respond to supervision.
Communicate with lead, supervisor, co‑workers, managers, and customers professionally.
Fill in during staff shortages.
Support shift lead in completing punch‑list items.
Use proper personal protective equipment.
Present a professional appearance and conduct.
Understand customer service and satisfaction.
Understand reporting systems and the environment.

Qualifications

No specific education requirement. 3‑6 months of training or experience preferred, or equivalent combination.

May be required to have a valid driver’s license.

Completed all safety and task training certification.

May be required to be forklift certified.

Bilingual a plus.

Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment and willingness to share with team.

Knowledge of upkeep and care of cleaning equipment.

Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

The employee must be able to sit and talk or listen, lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be provided.

Compensation and Shift

Sunday – Thursday 5:30pm‑2:00a. $20.76‑$21.76 per hour.
