The City of Kodiak Parks and Recreation Department is recruiting for temporary Maintenance Assistants.
Employee is responsible for performing a variety of unskilled and some semi‑skilled maintenance activities under direction of more experienced personnel.
Responsibilities- digging
- loading and unloading materials
- assisting skilled staff with moderate to complex repairs and maintenance activities
- operating light equipment and vehicles
- conducting basic maintenance activities
- high school diploma or GED
- up to one year of general construction or labor experience (preferred)
- valid driver's license required
- Perform routine maintenance duties on applicable facilities, tools, and equipment under direction of supervisory personnel, which may include lawn maintenance, digging, loading/unloading materials, and related duties.
- Provide routine assistance to skilled staff with repairs and maintenance activities as assigned.
- Operate light equipment and vehicles and perform routine maintenance activities as necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
