Position Summary

The part-time day Janitorial / Light Maintenance staff member is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment across all school facilities. This role supports the mission of the school by ensuring that students, staff, and visitors experience a well-kept, welcoming, and Christ-centered learning environment aligned with the values of the school.

Times:
Monday-Friday 8am-1pm - no weekends or holidays

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

* Perform daily cleaning of classrooms, offices, restrooms, hallways, gymnasium, and common areas

* Sweep, mop, vacuum, and sanitize floors and surfaces

* Set-up and break down cafeteria tables and clean in between lunch groups

* Clean and disinfect restrooms and restock supplies as needed

* Empty trash throughout the building

* Perform routine light maintenance tasks such as:

* Replacing light bulbs and filters

* Minor repairs (door handles, fixtures, furniture tightening, etc.)

* Reporting larger maintenance issues to administration

* Ensure cleaning supplies and equipment are stored properly and used safely

* Move classroom or office furniture as needed

* Respond to and properly clean and disinfect bodily fluid incidents in accordance with school health, safety, and sanitation protocols

* Maintain inventory of custodial supplies and request restocking as needed

* Follow all safety procedures and school policies

Qualifications

* Prior custodial or maintenance experience preferred, but not required

* Ability to operate standard cleaning equipment and tools, including a floor scrubber machine

* Basic knowledge of light maintenance tasks

* Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

* Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness

* Physically able to lift more than 50 pounds, bend, stand, and carry out routine custodial duties

Requirements

* Must successfully pass a criminal background check

* Must demonstrate reliability, integrity, and discretion in a school setting

* Must support and respect the mission and values of a Christian school environment

Work Environment

This position works primarily inside a school facility with occasional outdoor responsibilities. This role is from 8am until 1pm Monday through Friday and follows our school calendar.

Compensation

This is a part-time position and does not qualify for benefits. The salary range is $19-$23 an hour depending upon janitorial and maintenance experience. Additional opportunities for deep cleaning during breaks, holidays, and summer months will be considered with the right candidate.
