Industrial Custodian# Industrial Custodian Corporate Headquarters - Kokomo, IN 46901## Overview Salary Range $16.00 - $20.00 Hourly Position Type Full Time Job Shift Day Travel  Percentage Negligible## Description The custodial staff at Merrell Bros., Inc. plays a very important role in helping improve and maintain a safe and healthy work environment in our mechanical shop. Cleaning, maintenance, and organizational experience preferred.
** Responsibilities
* ** Ensure spaces are prepared for the next day by removing trash, cleaning equipment & tools, and cleaning/dusting surfaces
* Sweep/mop floors and vacuum carpets; use of industrial floor scrubber
* Pressure washing bays
* Fueling Fleet Vehicles
* Wash and sanitize toilets, sinks and showers and restock disposables (e.g. soap)
* Wipe mirrors and windows
* Maintain outer premises by cleaning entrances, emptying trash receptacles
* Perform maintenance and minor repairs as needed (fixing door handles, minor leaks etc.)
* Report major damages to management
* Assist with other tasks to improve the overall efficiency

* Proven experience as custodian, janitor or in a similar role
* Knowledge of use and maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment
* Experience driving fork truck
* Attention to detail and conscientiousness
* Able to lift 50 lbs; consistent heavy lifting
* The list of responsibilities covers the majority of the work to be done but being flexible and being willing to take care of issues as they arise is very important
** Preferred
* ** Knowledge of safe disposal of chemical liquids and other hazardous components
