We are seeking a versatile Auto & Small Engine Mechanic who can also manage our parts inventory and warehouse organization. The primary responsibility of this role is diagnosing, servicing, and repairing automotive vehicles alongside small engine outdoor power equipment (such as lawnmowers, tractors, and trimmers). When mechanical work is caught up, this position transitions into a secondary role focusing on organizing shop inventory, tracking parts, and maintaining a clean, efficient warehouse space.
PrimaryResponsibilities (Mechanical Service & Repair)
- Automotive Mechanics:
Diagnose, maintain, and repair standard automotive vehicles (brakes, suspension, oil changes, light electrical, and general fluid services). - Small Engine Repair:
Inspect, tune up, and repair outdoor power equipment—specifically commercial and residential lawnmowers, small engines, and related landscaping equipment. - Troubleshooting:
Accurately diagnose mechanical and electrical issues across both automotive and small engine platforms.
- Inventory Tracking:
Log, organize, and track incoming and outgoing mechanical parts, tools, and shop supplies. - Warehouse Organization:
Maintain a highly structured, clean, and safe warehouse and shop environment so parts are easy to locate and restock. - Parts Sourcing:
Assist in identifying and ordering the correct automotive or small engine replacement parts needed for upcoming repair jobs.
- Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in automotive repair, small engine mechanics, or a blended fleet maintenance role. - Technical
Skills:
Strong technical understanding of both automotive systems and 2-stroke/4-stroke small engines. Proven ability to stay organized and manage inventory logs. - Physical Ability:
Able to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and navigate a warehouse environment safely. - Traits:
Exceptional attention to detail (especially with part numbers and organization), strong problem-solving skills, and punctuality. - Requirements:
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. (Background check may be required).
