Position Overview

As a
2nd Shift Rail Loadout Associate
, you will play a crucial role in our operations team, ensuring efficient railcar loadouts while maintaining safety and quality standards. Your contributions will directly impact our success in serving customers, and you'll work within a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
* Starting rate of $24.20 includes the shift premium for working between 5 p.m. and 5 a.m.

Key Responsibilities
  • Understand customer needs, product lines, and specifications.
  • Operate the Track Mobile for safe and efficient product loadouts.
  • Conduct inspections and clean equipment, track inspections, and ensure safe switching operations.
  • Accurately report production activities and uphold safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, including planning and scheduling.
  • Work on top of railcars during loadouts, adhering to safety protocols.
Job-Specific Duties
  • Perform work area inspections for hazards and defects, document, and communicate issues to ensure timely repairs.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of other plant production areas.
  • Complete loadout reporting, including tracking railcar arrivals and inspections in our business system.
  • Inspect and utilize fall protection equipment while working on railcars.
  • Safely load railcars based on customer orders, adhering to grade and specification requirements.
  • Ensure proper operation of rail equipment, troubleshoot issues, and inspect the loadout system and tracks.
  • Safely move and switch railcars, operate switches, set brakes, and use brake sticks.
  • Keep the rail loadout area clean and safe, including snow and ice removal, and report any spills or hazards.
  • Collect and test sand samples according to customer specifications and log data into quality software.
  • Operate mobile equipment, including performing pre-shift inspections, fueling, greasing, and cold-weather startups.
  • Utilize computer systems for reporting and communication, including Badger Net, email, Microsoft Office, and our BMC business system.
