Maintenance engineers' work involves checking, repairing and servicing machinery, equipment, systems and infrastructures. Maintenance engineers ensure that industrial machinery and equipment runs smoothly and reliably, planning and undertaking scheduled maintenance, responding to breakdowns. These systems include, but are not limited to fire tube boilers, hot water boilers, high pressure steam, vacuum, compressed gases, plumbing, air conditioning, laundry, kitchen and central sterile equipment.

• High School graduate or GED.
• Practical experience with plant equipment systems as listed above.
• Working familiarity with basic electrical and mechanical test equipment.
• Previous hospital experience preferred.
• Must work well with others in a team setting with shared workloads.

• Must be able to lift 50 lbs and carry 50 lbs.
• Must be physically agile and able to work in tight spaces.
• Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Possesses a current Oregon driver's license.
• Hearing and vision within normal ranges.
• Has ability to logically understand basic mechanical theory and be familiar with accepted trouble diagnosis methods.
