CNA (Skilled Nursing)

We are hiring for Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) for full‑time night shifts (12 hours, 7 pm–7 am) with availability for alternate weekends.

Within a restorative framework, provides basic nursing and personal care for residents. Assists residents with hygiene, mobility, toileting, eating, and participating in recreational activities. Works to maintain a clean, safe, homelike atmosphere, and respects the individuality of each resident.

• Assists with move‑ins by welcoming new resident and family, and providing for immediate needs.
• Assesses resident needs and provides necessary nursing care as per resident’s care plan.
• Handles resident, family, or physician complaints/concerns, referring issues to DON as needed.
• Respects advance directives and assists residents to a dignified death; provides emotional and spiritual support to family and staff as needed.
• Responds to life‑threatening situations based on nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocol.
• Participates in department and/or unit performance improvement activities.
• Conducts rounds with incoming CNAs to assure continuity of care.
• Provides direct physical care (bathing, grooming, feeding, toileting, transferring/ambulating) to residents who are unable to perform those activities.
• Monitors residents and reports all new signs, symptoms, complaints, skin changes, or functional changes to the licensed nurse or nursing supervisor.
• Assists with admissions to Assisted Living by preparing rooms, welcoming new residents and families, and introducing residents to schedules and activities.
• Answers call lights promptly and informs residents of any delays; notifies charging nurse or supervisor if work cannot be completed timely.
• Transports residents to and from appointments and assists Life Enrichment personnel in transport.

• Knowledge of charting systems (Point Click Care).
• Familiar with patient care.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Solid organizational skills with attention to detail and multi‑tasking.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English sufficient to perform duties and communicate with residents, families, and staff.
• Successful completion of a state‑approved CNA course and competency testing.
• Basic Life Support (CPR).
• Experience with geriatric population preferred.
• Minimum of one year CNA experience desired.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to add/subtract, read a thermometer, use a balance or digital scale, and read a graduated cylinder.
• Effective problem‑solving skills.
• Must meet required physical job requirements.
• High school diploma or GED required.
