Overview:

Full Time, 5 Days per Week Beginning October 26th Through November 20th
Reports to Principal
The role of the school nurse is to provide a system of coordination and integration for student health care needs through assessment, education, intervention and follow-up. Students' educational success will be enhanced through collaboration with other school departments, parents and community resources. The goal is for all students to be healthy, safe, engaged, supported and challenged as they move toward greater independence.

All employees are expected to demonstrate a commitment to the Sisters of St. Joseph and the Nazareth Academy mission of scholarship, spirit, service and unity.

Qualifications:

Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse licensure
Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation certification
Computer literacy and competency in use of existing technology

Duties include but are not limited to:

Providing direct nursing services, first aid, illness and emergency care to students and staff
Case management for students with chronic illnesses
Administering daily medication to students
Monitoring communicable diseases
Maintaining accurate medical records to assure compliance with state mandates including immunizations, physical examinations, and medical conditions
Completing accident/incident reports for students/staff
Maintaining record of student visits to the nurse's office
Performing other health or school related work as required
