Summary/Objective:

To assist in the coordination of a school health program including the delivery of services to students and staff members in order to enhance health and wellness in the school community.

Qualifications:
  • Certified in First Aid

  • Secretarial and organizational skills

  • Possess a caring and sympathetic nature, and ability to interact well with children

  • Knowledge and experience with Google suite

  • Excellent communication skills

Required

Education and Experience
  • Minimum of a high school diploma

  • Certification in CPR, AED, and vision and hearing (will be provided by the district if necessary)

  • Responsibilities:
    • Maintain confidentiality regarding all school and health related issues.

    • Follow building and District procedure for daily absence reporting

    • Assist with the collection and maintenance of health records.

    • Inventory and maintain health office supplies.

    • Assist with preparing monthly and annual reports.

    • Provide first aid treatment.

    • Promote sound health judgment

    • Initiate accident/incident reports.

    • Report communicable diseases in school population.

    • Reports suspected child abuse to supervising nurse.

    • Assist with vision and hearing screening.

    • Oversee students self-administering medication.

    • Report concerns regarding student’s medications to supervising nurse.

    • Refer staff concerns and inquiries regarding Health Services to supervising nurse.

    • Assist the district nurses with clinics and other activities.
