JOB TITLE:
Vocational Department - Transition Consultant / WIOA Program Manager WORK DAYS:
205 days including minimal weekend assignments.
Job Goals- To serve as the coordinating liaison between WIOA/LADSE and the Districts served.
- To facilitate students' transition from school to work and post-secondary education through partnerships with school personnel, adult service providers, local Vocational Rehabilitation staff, and students/customers and families.
- As a member of the interdisciplinary team, provide and stimulate cooperative planning and development of each student's Individualized Education Plan (IEP) and the WIOA Individual Service Strategy Plan for Employment and/or Post-Secondary Education.
- To develop and manage cooperative business partnerships and programming that guides student work experiences and supports their post high school goals.
LADSE Program Coordinator Vocational Services
Qualifications- Masters preferred in rehabilitation counseling or vocational education and transition, psychology, or social work
- Minimum of five years' experience in operational management of grant funded programming
- Experience with grant writing and case management
- Experience with program development, evaluation, and report writing
- Working Knowledge of research based transition programming and outcome based planning
- Demonstrated successful experience in multi-level communications
- Working understanding of laws and requirements of the Department of Labor Laws, Child Labor Laws, ADA and IDEA, WIOA and the Rehabilitation Act
- Flexibility in work days due to required summer programming and Saturday programming
- Ability to travel to multiple worksites within the day
- Multi-level communication skills, written, oral, collaborative, with all stakeholders
- Ability to be effective, efficient and successful in managing outcome-based programming

- Ability to travel to multiple worksites across multiple locations within an average day

- Train WIOA assigned staff in rules and regulations that frame program operation and service delivery to students under WIOA funding
- Communicate with all stakeholders on best practices related to transition, employment, work experience, and post-secondary education planning
- Adhere to all policies and regulations of LADSE, LADSE Districts and WIOA
- Participate in planning activities and reporting requirements to the Employer Advisory Board
- Participate on district committees related to work experience, transition planning, college planning
- Participate in community networks such as the Chamber and Business Associations or other community organizations that relate to transition to employment, post-secondary education and independent living
- Manage grant writing, funding budgets, service delivery, staffing, outcome management, case management, report writing and follow-up as required for WIOA/"The Partnership"
- Other duties as assigned
- Maintain accurate record keeping in all aspects of case management, service delivery reporting requirements, program and budget audits, and outcomes for the LADSE WIOA program
- Lead staff in professional development planning
- Collaborate with district staff and internal teams on referrals and programming
- Consult with internal teams and external teams, parents, employers, and businesses organizations on best practices and matters related to Transition such as workplace readiness, workplace rules and regulations, service delivery, job placement, and follow up
- Coordinate worksites, staffings, and student work experiences during summer experiences, select weekends, and time frames of special projects that are of benefit to student growth and vocational planning
- Market the work experience program and LADSE WIOA program events to students, families, LADSE staff and district staff
- To be an active collaborative participant in developing unit goals and LADSE initiatives
- Attend WIOA training events
- Monitor the quality and quantity of case management activities of staff assigned
- Active involvement in sharing information on transition to parents, students and educators
- To collaborate with the LADSE Business office on budgets, grant requirements, expenditures related to decisions on summer and weekend activity planning
Salary, benefits, work hours/days as established by the Directing Board. Non-exempt position. (Non-collective bargaining employee.)
