Tooling Engineer

Involvement in continuous improvement of all tooling and processes; assist in troubleshooting tooling performance issues in production; assist on all engineering projects

Duties & Responsibilities:

• As requested, troubleshoot die related problems in the press room and suggest appropriate repairs or modifications to resolve
• Suggest and implement use of sensors in tooling where required
• Assist in troubleshooting sensor problems
• As requested, assist in training apprentices and journeymen on machine tools and proper die repair procedures including but not limited to die component timing
• Create detailed prints from CAD as needed
• Use only safe work practices, wear all required PPE on the job
• Report on unsafe working conditions to direct supervisor/manager
• Demonstrate awareness to ISO 9001/14001, IATF 16949
• Observe and obey company policies, including but not limited to:
  General company Rules, Safety Rules, Code of Conduct / Anti-Bribery / Ethics Escalation
• Observe proprietary rights of our company and its customer and suppliers at all times

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2-year College Technical degree or equivalent experience, with 6 years’ experience in the field of Tool & Die making (4-year apprenticeship preferred) with a metal stamping company
• Demonstrated experience and knowledge of advanced metal stamping methods and secondary processes, technology development, process development, cost estimation, and project management
• Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD & Solid Works
• Strong oral and written communication skills
