Job Summary

EDU-AIDs is seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Nurse (RN) to join our team. The ideal candidate will be committed to promoting the health, safety, and well-being of students while supporting a positive and inclusive learning environment. The School Nurse will collaborate with educators, families, and healthcare providers to ensure students receive the medical support they need to succeed academically.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to students, including first aid, illness assessment, emergency care, and health counseling.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and school policies.
• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs) for students with chronic medical conditions.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, parents, physicians, and multidisciplinary teams to support student health and educational success.
• Participate in IEP and Section 504 meetings when appropriate to address students' healthcare needs.
• Conduct required health screenings, including vision, hearing, and other state-mandated screenings.
• Respond promptly to medical emergencies and implement emergency response procedures.
• Promote health education, wellness, disease prevention, and infection control throughout the school community.

Qualifications

• Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.
• Previous school nursing, pediatric, public health, or community health experience preferred.
• Knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, IEPs, and school health regulations is preferred.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, school staff, and healthcare providers.
• Commitment to supporting student health, safety, and academic success.
