At Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center (AVRMC), we know that exceptional patient care starts with a safe and sanitary environment. We are seeking a dependable, hardworking, and compassionate Environmental Services (EVS) Technician to join our team in La Junta.

Position SummaryAs an EVS Technician, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment throughout the hospital. Your work directly supports patient safety, infection prevention, and the overall patient experience.
This is a Full-Time position within our Environmental Services Department.
Key Responsibilities Cleaning & Sanitation- Perform routine cleaning of patient rooms, nursing units, offices, clinical areas, waiting rooms, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, and stairwells
- Ensure all assigned areas are clean, neat, sanitary, and maintained to hospital standards
- Complete work assignments efficiently and on time
- Replenish supplies in patient rooms and housekeeping carts
- Follow all infection control practices, including hand hygiene, standard precautions, and isolation precautions
- Use proper PPE, cleaning chemicals, and supplies according to procedures
- Operate and maintain equipment safely and correctly
- Always observe safety precautions and report hazards promptly
- Assist with moving or relocating furniture and medical records as requested
- Maintain age-specific safety precautions for pediatric and elderly patients
- Transport trash and hazardous waste to designated disposal areas
- Move clean and dirty linen to appropriate locations
- Collect shred bins and store in designated areas
- Transport empty boxes to the box compactor and create bales when needed
- Collect and transport recyclable materials to designated areas
- Introduce yourself to patients, families, and visitors
- Assist visitors with directions when needed
- Maintain patient confidentiality at all times
- Participate in performance improvement activities
- Maintain quality standards and work independently with normal supervision
- Valid Driver’s License
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1–3 months of related experience and/or training (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
