Follow routine cleaning and maintenance procedures to maintain a high standard of safety, cleanliness and efficiency of building operations.

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Ability to read, write and understand written and verbal instructions for cleaning, maintenance and safety procedures

A minimum of 90 days (or a period of time as determined by the custodian supervisor) as an LPISD Substitute custodian preferred or experience in a custodial work environment preferred.

Tools/Equipment Used: Twenty‑inch (20”) rotos, automatic floor machines, carpet extractors, commercial vacuums, wet/dry vacuums, 24‑ and 32‑ounce wet mops, large wringers and other necessary equipment and tools, products and supplies.

Posture: Frequent standing, sitting, kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting.

Motion: Frequent walking, climbing stairs/ladders, grasping/squeezing, wrist flexion/extension, reaching, and overhead reaching.

Lifting: Heavy lifting up to forty‑five (45) pounds unassisted frequently.

Environment: Work inside and outside; exposure to hot and cold temperatures; dust, toxic chemicals; slippery or uneven surfaces; ladders; may work alone.

Mental Demands: Reading, writing, and understanding written and verbal instructions.

The district contributes $400/month to the cost of employee‑only health insurance, $175/month greater than the state required amount of $225/month.

Assignment Days: 240

Pay Grade: 1

• Elementary and Junior High: 6:30 am‑3:00 pm, 10:00 am‑6:30 pm, 1:00 pm‑9:30 pm
• High School: 6:00 am‑2:30 pm, 1:30 pm‑10:00 pm

Shift assignments are assigned upon hire and based on needs of campus/district.

Salary: $11.22 to $15.70 per hour
