The Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading all maintenance operations to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of equipment and facilities. This role oversees preventive maintenance, equipment repairs, maintenance scheduling, vendor relationships, and the maintenance budget.
The Maintenance Manager partners with Production and Operations to improve equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and support safety, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives while leading a high-performing maintenance team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Serve as the maintenance leader by promoting a safe and efficient work environment.
- Develop, implement, and manage the facility's preventive maintenance program.
- Lead, coach, and develop the maintenance team while managing performance and accountability.
- Schedule and prioritize daily maintenance activities to support production.
- Oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on all equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems.
- Minimize equipment downtime through timely repairs and root cause analysis.
- Partner with Production and Engineering to improve equipment reliability and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
- Recommend equipment upgrades, process improvements, and cost-saving opportunities.
- Maintain maintenance records and equipment history.
- Develop and monitor the maintenance budget and identify opportunities to reduce maintenance costs.
- Ensure maintenance tools, equipment, and work areas remain organized and in good condition.
- Develop and maintain maintenance procedures and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with all company safety policies and regulatory requirements.
- Technical degree or certification in Industrial Maintenance or a related trade preferred.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 5 years of industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience.
- Minimum 2 years of maintenance leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Experience managing preventive maintenance programs.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems.
- Experience with root cause analysis and equipment troubleshooting.
- Basic welding and fabrication experience preferred.
- Strong leadership and team development skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
