Position: Full-Time - Building Supervisor and Ice Maintenance Operator (Zamboni Driver) - Lafayette

Position Overview

Under the general direction of the Facility Superintendent, the Building/Facility Supervisor acts as Manager on Duty during operating hours and supervises daily operations on the property at the YMCA of Northern Colorado
. The Building/Facility Supervisor is responsible for the cleanliness and safety of the facility, supervising community service volunteers, acting as liaison between contractors and the YMCA and serving as emergency responder.

Responsibilities
  • Perform Manager on Duty functions, walking through every aspect of the facility hourly for heightened awareness of cleanliness and risk management.
  • Respond to any emergency ensuring member safety.
  • Ensure the facility has necessary equipment to operate programs effectively.
  • Supervise any other facility staff or volunteers.
  • Maintain the ice rink: operate and maintain ice resurfacer, monitor ice depth, surface and air temperatures, and cleanliness.
  • Perform pool safety and maintenance checks as scheduled. Certified Pool Operator certificate required within 30 days of hire.
  • Assist the Membership Desk or other departments throughout the shift as needed.
  • Assist in any tasks/duties assigned by the Facility Superintendent.
  • Ensure that all staff members provide exceptional customer service and a positive, professional atmosphere at all times.
  • Maintain supplies, order and pick up necessary maintenance items to perform repairs.
  • Clean up the boiler room and storage areas weekly, ensuring chemicals are stored properly and equipment is orderly.
  • Store all tools at the end of the shift.
  • Perform general maintenance and preventive maintenance research for short‑ and long‑term fixes of items and basic preventive maintenance on HVAC units.
  • Provide preventive maintenance and repair of fitness equipment.
  • Take the lead in keeping an active building list of community service tasks and directly supervise these volunteers, ensuring documentation.
  • Assist other departments in daily functions, offering enhanced customer service.
  • Maintain a logbook of current projects and daily/weekly/monthly preventative maintenance issues.
  • Inspect and maintain landscaping and exterior of the facility daily.
  • Reference all equipment checklists and account for needed items on related tasks.
  • Drive locally and to distant locations, camps, etc., as required.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school graduate with additional relevant trainings or certifications.
  • Minimum age 18 years.
  • Current, valid driver’s license and MVR meeting YMCA standards.
  • Skills to perform basic maintenance of the facility.
  • Skills to operate and maintain the ice resurfacer.
  • Skills for basic pool operations.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certifications.
  • Strong communication and human relations skills.
  • Certified Pool Operator certificate (within 30 days of hire).
Physical Demands

The position requires the ability to perform heavy work, including lifting up to 100 pounds occasionally and up to 50 pounds frequently. The worker must also lift, pull, push, climb ladders, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, walk, and perform repetitive hand motions. Visual acuity is required for operating machines and performing mechanical or skilled trades tasks.

Compensation

USD $20.00 per hour.
