Help us give more women an educational waterfowl experience while actively hunting!

Season: October – February

Location: Private lease, Lafayette, Colorado

Position Summary

This position leads educational waterfowl hunts for women on a private lease with a permanent blind and full-body decoys. The guide will work solo with up to three clients per hunt. The primary objective is to teach new hunters safe firearm handling, waterfowl skills, and realistic hunt expectations. This role focuses on confidence-building, safety, conservation, and FUN- not limits.

Responsibilities

  • Guide morning hunts (5:30am–11:00am) or evening hunts as scheduled.
  • Set up the blind, decoys, and equipment as needed.
  • Teach firearm safety, blind etiquette, seasonal spread patterns, calling basics, and bird identification.
  • Create a supportive, inclusive environment for new women hunters.
  • Communicate realistic expectations about waterfowl hunting and the migration.
  • Maintain safe gun handling at all times; enforce safety standards.
  • Utilize the Uncharted blind and full-body decoys provided on-site.
  • Bring personal equipment, including silhouettes, a goose flag, and a buddy heater.
  • Keep the blind area clean and organized.
  • Participate in basic photos and videos used for marketing.
  • Report field conditions, bird activity, and client experience to Erin.

Requirements

  • Build/tear down blind at the beginning and end of the season with the landowner and Erin.
  • Brush in blind before hunt to stay concealed.
  • Proficient goose/duck caller.
  • Strong personal experience in waterfowl hunting.
  • Comfortable teaching brand-new hunters.
  • CPR, First Aid, and trauma first-aid certification.
  • Excellent communication and patience.
  • Ability to work outdoors in cold, variable weather.
  • Commitment to safety and trauma-informed teaching.
  • Optional: well-behaved hunting dog.

Equipment Provided

  • Permanent blind on private land.
  • Parking and easy access.

Equipment Guide Must Provide

  • Goose flag.
  • Buddy heater & Propane
  • $15/hour + commissions
  • Average 20% tips from each client.
  • Ability to hunt the private lease outside of guiding, when it does not affect Uncharted hunt harvest rates.
  • Work with a women-led outfitter focused on education, empowerment, and conservation.
