Aircraft Maintenance Technician
Reporting to the Hangar Maintenance Manager. This position will work with or without supervision in performing aircraft airframe and engine inspections, repair and maintenance unassisted, on multiple types of aircraft as required by FAA regulations and PHI directives. Repair aircraft and related equipment according to manufacturer's specifications and company directives. In addition must sign and certify on aircraft logs and other pertinent forms to the extent of repairs accomplished by himself.
Perform simple clerical duties in preparing job related documentation. May provide direct supervision to unlicensed mechanics working on the aircraft.
- Perform daily and periodic inspections and repair and maintenance of engines and airframe on one type of aircraft as required by FAA regulations and PHI directives.
- Perform troubleshooting and perform appropriate repairs
- Repairs to include removing and replacing parts, accessories, components and engines as necessary.
- Draw replacement parts from supply requesting them by correct nomenclature and part number.
- Ensure that new or serviceable parts provided by supply are approved replacements for the units removed from aircraft.
- Ensure proper tagging and disposition of removed parts. Reinstall the new parts on aircraft and perform operational ground check if required.
- Perform routine clerical tasks involving annotating work orders and aircraft forms indicating there on the nature and scope of work accomplished.
- When assigned away from the repair station, logbook must be signed in accordance with FAA regulations.
- Responsible for all company assets. Exercise control of and responsibility for spare parts and equipment.
- Keep tools and work area neat and orderly.
- May provide direct supervision over unlicensed mechanics working on aircraft and sign off for work performed.
- Perform miscellaneous related duties as assigned.
- Possess a current Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate
- High School diploma or equivalent
