Job PurposeTo join a team dedicated to student excellence, a Lead Custodian will maintain the safety, cleanliness, and appearance of CSUSA facilities. The role ensures all custodial areas are kept clean, safe, and well‑maintained, supporting the educational environment for students and staff.
How You Will Impact Education- Oversee Day and Night Custodian duties and performance.
- Inspect and assess the quality of work performed by custodians.
- Report to the assigned Supervisor on service quality, payroll and HR issues.
- Maintain assigned interior and exterior areas, including hallways, restrooms, offices, classrooms, playgrounds, and parking lots.
- Empty trash, dust furnishings and fixtures, and sterilize restroom facilities.
- Respond to bodily messes in accordance with training.
- Assist with cafeteria cleanliness and meal‑time waste removal.
- Participate in training programs to enhance job proficiency.
- Review current literature and janitorial resources related to duties.
- Enforce OSHA and safety procedures.
- Perform other duties as directed by Supervisor.
- Follow federal, state, and company policies.
- Annual employee effectiveness assessment by Facilities Supervisor with school administration and Area Director.
- Carry hand‑held radio on school property when assigned.
- Remain on school property from start to finish of workday, including lunch.
- Report and assist with emergency situations.
- Do not leave campus without Supervisor permission.
- Knowledge of basic janitorial trades and effective communication.
- Ability to handle custodial supplies, chemicals, and perform basic calculations.
- Familiarity with OSHA, building and fire codes, and inspection processes.
- Strong time‑management and organizational skills.
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office and time‑tracking programs.
- Physical capability to meet job demands.
- Minimum education:
high school graduate; continuing education in construction or facilities preferred. - Minimum experience:
3 years of janitorial trade experience. - Possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed above.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
The job involves usual office working conditions and requires active presence on school grounds.
Physical Demands- Climb ladders and carry items up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 75 pounds occasionally.
- Continuously walk or stand.
Job is nonexempt and subject to the minimum wage and overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
