Custodian

Position Summary

We are looking for a dependable and detail‑oriented Custodian to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming campus environment for students, staff, and visitors.

• Sweep, mop, vacuum and spot‑clean floors and carpets
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and floors
• Empty trash containers and replace liners
• Refill restroom and cleaning supplies as needed
• Dust furniture, windowsills, ledges and common surfaces
• Clean glass doors, windows and partition glass
• Clean and sanitize break rooms, kitchens, drinking fountains and common areas
• Maintain janitorial closets and cleaning equipment
• Secure buildings by ensuring doors are locked and lights are turned off after cleaning

• Offices and administrative areas
• Lobbies and common areas
• Break rooms and kitchens
• Restrooms
• Hallways, stairways and classrooms
• Conference rooms, computer labs and mailrooms

• Reliable with strong attention to detail
• Reliable, punctual and professional individuals
• Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
• Basic knowledge of cleaning equipment and supplies
• Ability to follow safety procedures and cleaning protocols
• Ability to perform routine cleaning duties, including standing, walking, bending and lifting
• Positive attitude and dependable work ethic
• Previous custodial or janitorial experience is preferred but not required

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
• Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching and twisting
• Ability to lift, carry, push and pull up to 50 pounds
• Ability to operate standard custodial equipment such as vacuums, mops, brooms and floor care equipment
• Ability to work safely with cleaning chemicals and supplies
• Ability to climb stairs and work in various areas throughout the campus
• Ability to perform repetitive cleaning tasks during the scheduled shift
• Must be able to work independently and maintain consistent attendance

• Background check required prior to employment
• Fingerprint‑based screening may be required due to campus security requirements
• Must be authorized to work in the United States
