Trolley Fueler​/Washer

Job Overview

The City of Laguna Beach is seeking motivated applicants for the position of Trolley Fueler Washer (Part-Time). This position reports to the Transit Supervisor or their designee. The Trolley Fuel Washer performs a variety of maintenance tasks for the Transit Division's Trolley Service including mopping, sweeping, detailing, and pressure washing.

Employees must be available to work weekdays, weekends, and select holidays on six-to-eight‑hour shifts. Shifts are scheduled during the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m., Monday through Sunday.

• Fuel, disinfect, and wash interior and exterior trolleys and division vehicles.
• Restock and update service‑related materials.
• Perform simple mechanical maintenance as needed.
• Execute other duties as required and assigned.

• Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of hire.
• One (1) year of experience driving larger vehicles (e.g., trucks or buses) is desirable.
• Basic knowledge of common hand tools and previous experience washing and detailing vehicles is desirable.
• A valid California driver’s license and an acceptable driving record are required.

• Basic pay ranges composed of either five, seven, or eight steps.
• Overtime pay at one and a half times normal rate for hours worked in excess of forty per week.
• Eligible employees are enrolled in the Public Agency Retirement System (PARS) with 3.75% employee contribution and 7.5% city match.
• Employees receive 40 hours of sick leave annually, provided each July.
