Position: Maintenance Worker / House Person

Job Type: Full Time

Reports To:
Director of Facilities

Primary Objective:
Perform facilities and building maintenance repair and upkeep to facilitate operations, inclusive of preventative maintenance, performs general janitorial duties. Clean all club facilities as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintain and repair facilities, equipment, and property assets by utilizing various trade skills (i.e., plumbing, electrical, carpentry, air conditioning, material handling, etc.) and using hand tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete assigned tasks.
• Perform general janitorial duties. Cleans and sanitizes restrooms, restocks restroom supplies. Vacuums carpets and mops floors. Sweep and dusts. Washes windows.
• Secures buildings when facilities are not in use.
• Take periodic inventory of maintenance stock and equipment. Order supplies and maintain inventory of parts and equipment utilized.
• Conduct regular inspections of clubhouse buildings to determine where repairs or attention is needed; ensure immediate area of clubhouse is clean of debris and leaves.
• Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
• Safely operate equipment and tools.
• Assemble furniture or equipment.
• Maintain compliance with safety regulations; inform supervisor of hazardous conditions and broken equipment.
• Assist in facilitating emergency action procedures for the clubhouse and golf course at times of severe weather or other times of emergency.
• Exhibit flexibility, creativity, and efficiency in performing work assignments.
• Communicate clearly, honestly, and timely to supervisors and co-workers at all levels.
• Work effectively in a team environment by completing assignments, adapting to changing circumstances, and respecting diversity.
• Operate utility golf cart.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED Certification.
• Demonstrated basic knowledge, practices and procedures in facility and building maintenance and repair, including safety measures.
• Utilization of tools, equipment, methods, and materials in the trades of carpentry, painting, plumbing, HVAC, or electrical systems, etc.
• Experience in the use of hand and electrical tools and equipment used in a variety of building trades.
• Must be able to understand, speak, read and write in English.
• Basic math skills.
• Must be able to follow directions.
• Display strong communication skills, active listening skills, and personal skills.
• Valid Driver's License

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to:

• Walk and/or stand for prolonged periods of time; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, twist, reach, and grasp; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.; push/pull/move objects; and lift overhead.
• Exposure to dust, dirt, and grime, with soiling of hands and clothing.
• Work near moving mechanical parts, fumes, toxic or caustic chemicals.
• Must be able to withstand working in humid and outdoor temperatures.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Work experience in facility and building maintenance.
• Work experience in the trades industry.

$16 - $17 per hour, full time, 4 to 5 days a week, 8 hours per shift, pm shift, 3pm to 11pm, nights and weekends. Schedule days change weekly based on demand.
